Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre is a nonprofit performing arts hub at 705 N. Illinois Street in downtown Indianapolis, home to a collective of seven professional theatre companies and a shared mission to champion new play development, celebrate diversity, create equity, insist on inclusion, and provide accessibility to all. As Indianapolis’s preeminent LGBTQ+-affirming professional theatre, Phoenix has a decades-long history of producing bold, issue-oriented, and socially engaged work — presenting new plays, gallery exhibitions, and its Trail Talks community dialogue series in a space where everyone is explicitly welcome, safe, and challenged. Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre is a cornerstone of Indianapolis’s LGBTQ+ cultural identity and a destination where the arts and social justice live side by side.
