The Indianapolis Men’s Chorus (IMC) is an LGBTQ+ choral organization founded in 1990 that has grown into one of the Midwest’s most respected LGBTQ+ performing arts institutions, now recognized among the 24 largest choruses within GALA Choruses — placing Indianapolis in the top tier of LGBTQ+ choral organizations in North America. The chorus brings together over 100 singers to perform across genres from classical and Broadway to pop anthems and spirituals, with a mission to entertain, educate, and promote inclusive community through musical excellence — including the Echo Project anti-bullying outreach program that sends IMC singers into schools to support LGBTQ+ youth. Born in 1990 from courage when being openly gay in Indiana required bravery, IMC has been a visible and vital voice for the LGBTQ+ community for more than three decades, performing alongside the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, appearing at Circle of Lights, and hosting the beloved Big Gay Prom fundraiser each year.
