Hotel Tango Distillery is Indianapolis’s first distillery since Prohibition and the nation’s first combat-disabled, veteran-owned distillery, founded in 2013 in the historic Fletcher Place neighborhood by Marine veteran Travis Barnes following three combat tours — the name Hotel Tango reflects the military phonetic alphabet initials of founders Travis (T) and Hilary (H) Barnes. The distillery crafts a full lineup of small-batch spirits including vodka, rum, gin, bourbon, rye whiskey, and fruit liqueurs, all available through its tasting room and distributed across multiple states and on military bases nationwide. Hotel Tango is a welcoming, LGBTQ+-affirming community destination in Indianapolis, with visitors and reviewers regularly noting its inclusive atmosphere and visible Pride support.
