The New Harmony Project is an Indianapolis-based national nonprofit literary and theatrical organization dedicated to developing and celebrating new plays and screenplays that affirm the human spirit — gathering writers, directors, actors, and dramaturgs each year for its intensive annual conference in historic New Harmony, Indiana. Over more than 35 years, the Project has developed the work of hundreds of writers and championed stories across genres that illuminate the depth and complexity of human experience. As a resident organization at the Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre and a committed member of Indianapolis’s creative community, The New Harmony Project has a long history of supporting LGBTQ+ stories and storytellers.
