Queer Asterisk is a Denver-based therapeutic services organization founded in 2016 by Naropa University graduates Sorin Thomas and Brett Adamek, both of whom identify as queer and transgender. The team of queer and trans therapists and educators provides individual, youth, relationship, and family counseling, along with WPATH letter-writing sessions for clients pursuing gender-affirming medical care. Beyond one-on-one counseling, Queer Asterisk runs low-cost community groups open by suggested donation and offers training for clinicians who want to build cultural competency around gender and sexual diversity. The practice operates from 1575 Franklin Street in Denver. As a queer- and trans-led member of the Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, Queer Asterisk serves the LGBTQ+ community across Colorado.
