Rocky Mountain Arts Association is a Denver choral arts nonprofit headquartered at 700 Colorado Boulevard, made up of the 140-member Denver Gay Men’s Chorus and the 90-member Denver Women’s Chorus (also referred to as the Denver Feminist Chorus). The Gay Men’s Chorus was founded in 1982 and the women’s chorus followed in 1984, both started by LGBTQ+ singers looking for a creative outlet in an affirming space. The organization describes itself as the oldest and largest LGBTQ arts organization in Colorado. Its choruses produce five major concerts each season, have performed in 12 states plus Washington, D.C. and Canada, commissioned more than 20 new choral works, and released commercial recordings. As a member of the Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, Rocky Mountain Arts Association serves the LGBTQ+ community in Denver.
