Mountain Sun Pub and Brewery sits at 1535 Pearl Street in downtown Boulder, where it opened with a six-barrel brewery in October 1993. The pub built its reputation on craft beer, scratch pub food, and a deliberately analog atmosphere, no televisions, just conversation, Scrabble, and a living-room feel. House beers have collected medals around the world, including six gold medals at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Mountain Sun does not take reservations or accept credit cards, and it anchors a small family of unpretentious neighborhood pubs that also includes Southern Sun and Vine Street Pub. As a member of the Colorado LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce, Mountain Sun serves the LGBTQ+ business community in Boulder.
